Heat Advisory and Excessive Heat Warning on Friday

Friday will be another extremely hot day in parts of Southern New England. A strong southwesterly wind will help to cool coastal RI and SE MA, but farther inland the temperature will jump into the 90s. The heat combined with high humidity will lead to heat indices up to 109° in the hottest areas. An Excessive Heat Warning is in effect for Northeast Massachusetts, including Boston. The rest of interior MA, all of CT, and Providence/Kent Counties in RI are under a Heat Advisory for heat indices up to 104°. Be sure to take it easy and drink plenty of water.
