Thanksgiving Forecast: Dry, windy, and cold

The big pre-Thanksgiving storm will be out of the picture by dawn on Thursday, but residual effects will be felt throughout the day. The temperature will drop into the upper 20s to low 30s by Thursday morning, leading to sloppy, chilly high school football games. 1.5-3.5″ of rain will make the natural grass fields quite muddy. The wind chill will be in the teens because of 20-35 mph westerly winds that will continue through the morning.

There will be a blend of clouds and sun during the day, and the temperature will struggle to get much above freezing in the afternoon. The wind chill will stay in the teens to low 20s as the winds stay active through sunset. Skies will clear Thursday night, and the temperature will quickly fall into the 20s. It will be mainly clear and in the teens to low 20s by dawn Friday – bundle up if you’re heading out to take advantage of Black Friday early bird sales!

The weather this year will be a far cry from last Thanksgiving when it was in the mid 50s with mostly sunny skies and a light breeze.
