Clouds Win Again on Sunday

Sunday will be another mostly cloudy day in Southern New England. A few showers are possible, especially near the coast. It will stay unseasonably cool, with highs only in the low to mid 70s. Clouds and fog are possible Sunday night as the temperature falls to near 60 with an easterly breeze.

Low clouds and fog will burn off to partly sunny skies on Monday. It may take a while for the sun to break through, and the afternoon is the better part of the day. It will not be too warm, with highs in the mid to upper 70s and a light easterly breeze.

The wind direction will shift in the midweek, and a brief warm-up is ahead for Tuesday and Wednesday. It will be partly cloudy with a slight chance of a thunderstorm in western Southern New England on Tuesday. Highs will be in the mid to upper 80s inland, and low 80s near the coast. The low temperature will stay in the mid to upper 60s Tuesday night.

Wednesday looks like the warmest day of the week. Highs will make a run into the upper 80s to low 90s inland, and it will be in the low 80s at the beach with a southwesterly breeze. There will be gradually increasing clouds late in the day. Showers and thunderstorms will bring an end to the heat and humidity Wednesday night into Thursday. The forecast for Thursday is tricky because it is unclear how quickly the front will move offshore and when the shower/storm threat will end. Highs will likely be in the low 80s on Thursday.

The weather looks seasonably warm with sunshine on Friday. Highs will be in the low to mid 80s, and lows will be in the low to mid 60s. It does not look very humid.
