Warm and Humid in the Midweek

Sunshine broke through the clouds in Rhode Island and interior Southeastern Massachusetts by midday Monday, and the afternoon was delightful with a light breeze and highs in the mid 70s to low 80s. A fresh northerly breeze relaxed during the afternoon.

Monday night will be mainly clear and comfortably mild. Lows will be in the upper 50s to low 60s. The wind will swing around to the southwest on Tuesday, and warmer air will follow. Highs will be in the mid to upper 80s inland, and low 80s near the coast. There will be a blend of clouds and sunshine, with the slight chance of a pop-up shower. It will gradually get more humid during the day.

Tuesday night looks partly cloudy with patchy fog. It will be muggy and mild, with lows in the mid to upper 60s. Fog or low clouds will burn off to hazy sunshine on Wednesday. Highs will be in the mid to upper 80s inland, and low 80s near the coast. There will be a 10-25 mph southwesterly breeze.

An approaching cold front will lead to scattered showers and thunderstorms Wednesday night and Thursday. Rain should hold off until Wednesday evening in RI and SE MA. The shower/storm threat diminishes Thursday afternoon or evening as the front moves offshore. Highs will only be near 80 on Thursday.

Friday should be a decent day with highs in the upper 70s to low 80s. The weekend looks nice, with highs in the 80s and lows in the 60s. There may be more sun on Saturday than on Sunday.
