Long-Range Forecast – August 8

There have been a few more thunderstorms in the last couple of weeks, but the overall weather pattern has not changed too much. We’re rolling into a gorgeous and dry weekend, and the fine weather will last into early next week. The next chance of widespread rain is Wednesday. In fact, we’re fairly confident that there will be showers throughout New England sometime between Tuesday night and Thursday morning. Wednesday looks quite unsettled, with highs in the 70s.

The system will likely be fairly progressive, and dry weather will return late in the workweek. It will not be humid, and highs will be in the near normal for mid August. Another front will threaten Southern New England with showers late next weekend or early the following week. There are some indications that it may get briefly very warm and muggy as we hit the last third of August. At this point, we’re not expecting an extended stretch of hot/humid weather. See the video for more.
