Dry and Seasonable Thursday

The temperature jumped into the upper 40s to low 50s with a bit of sunshine on Wednesday afternoon. Cooler weather will return on Thursday, but it will not be terribly cold. Spotty rain or snow showers are possible late Wednesday night as the temperature falls into the mid 30s late at night.

Thursday will be partly sunny, breezy, and seasonable

Thursday will be partly cloudy and seasonable, with highs in the low to mid 40s. There will be a 10-25 mph westerly breeze. Skies will be mainly clear Thursday night. Lows will be in the mid to upper 20s. Friday looks decent, albeit a bit colder. There should be a blend of clouds and sun, with highs in the upper 30s.

The weather will not change much at the start of the weekend. Lows will be in the low to mid 20s on Saturday morning, and highs will be in the mid to upper 30s with mostly sunny skies on Saturday afternoon. A storm moving through the Southeastern United States will likely stay far enough south that there is minimal impact in Southern New England on Sunday. At worst, it looks like there will be spotty rain/snow showers in the afternoon. Highs will be in the upper 30s to low 40s.

Looking ahead to next week, we are very confident that a large storm will form in the Eastern United States sometime around Christmas Eve. Southern New England will be on the mild side of the storm. The early outlook is for strong winds, a period of moderate to heavy rain, and temperatures soaring into the upper 50s to low 60s. It’s a pretty safe bet that there will not be a white Christmas in Southeastern New England.
