Flood Watch Wednesday Afternoon Through Thursday Morning

A soaking rain storm is likely to bring 1-2 inches of rain to Southern New England Wednesday into Thursday. Localized 3 inch totals are possible, and some street flooding may occur. Small rivers and streams may rise to near flood stage in areas that receive more than two inches of rain. The National Weather Service office in Taunton, MA has issued a Flood Watch for most of Southern New England. See below for more.

* FROM WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH THURSDAY MORNING

* A VERY MOIST AIRMASS AHEAD OF AN APPROACHING COLD FRONT WILL
  GENERATE RAIN WITH LOCALLY HEAVY DOWNPOURS. RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF
  1 TO 2 INCHES ARE EXPECTED WITH LOCAL 3-INCH AMOUNTS POSSIBLE.

* URBAN AND POOR DRAINAGE AREAS MAY GO INTO FLOOD. THE RAIN WILL
  CAUSE MANY RIVERS AND STREAMS TO RISE TO NEAR FLOOD STAGE.
