October 25th Update

Freezing temperatures are possible in most of Southeastern New England Tuesday night. Skies will clear, and the wind will diminish to 5-10 mph overnight in most of RI and SE MA. It will say breezy near the coast. All but those within a few miles of the coast will see temperatures dip to 30-35° by dawn on Wednesday. It will be in the mid to upper 30s at the immediate coast.

Wednesday looks breezy and bright, with highs only in the upper 40s – about 10° cooler than normal for late October. Clouds will increase late Wednesday night ahead of a storm that will bring rain on Thursday. Showers will develop by midday Thursday, and steady rain is likely in the afternoon and evening. The temperature will slowly climb into the 50s. 0.5-1″ of rain is possible in RI and SE MA, with the best chance of 1″ in W RI.

Friday looks dry and windy, with highs in the upper 40s to mid 50s – warmest in SE MA around midday. 30-40 mph gusts are possible during the day. There will be a lot of clouds this weekend, but it does not look like we will see much rain in RI and SE MA. A spotty shower is possible Saturday, especially inland. Highs will be near 50 again with a westerly breeze. Sunday will feature a bit more sunshine, and highs in the mid to upper 50s.

The outlook for Halloween is partly cloudy, brisk and cool. A lot like the weather we are seeing on Tuesday. Highs will be in the upper 40s to low 50s, and it will likely be in the mid 40s for trick or treating – a little chilly, but we’ve seen worse.
