November 19th Update

Some rain Wednesday; Dry and chilly Thanksgiving

A generally chilly weather pattern continues through the end of the month into early December. A brief midweek warm-up comes with some rain before the chill returns for Thanksgiving with dry weather. It will likely stay dry through Black Friday.

Temperatures will swing from the low-mid 40s with a gusty breeze on Monday to the 50s on Tuesday. Both days will be partly sunny. An approaching front combined with an energetic southern branch of the jet stream may lead to a period of rain on Wednesday. It’s unclear whether it will be a few showers or a period of heavier rain. In any event, the rain threat ends by Wednesday night, and Thursday looks dry.

Expect a chilly Thanksgiving, with temps in the 30s for high school football games, and a high in the low 40s in the afternoon. Black Friday shoppers will get dry weather with lows in the 20s/30s Friday morning, and highs in the 40s in the afternoon.

An active northern jet stream brings a cold front through next weekend. Showers are possible on Saturday. Cold weather returns for the end of the weekend and early the following week. There may be an Alberta Clipper storm system that threatens Southern New England with a bit of snow.

Odds are increasing for some rain on Wednesday
The odds of an inch of snow in the next two weeks are now more than 50/50 for inland Southern New England.
The next 7 days looks relatively cold in the Eastern US
More relatively cool weather is ahead for the following week
