August 6th Update

The workweek begins with hot and humid weather in Southeastern New England. Highs will likely reach the low-mid 90s inland Monday and Tuesday. Increasing humidity will make it feel like 95-101° away from the coast both days. Expect temps in the 80s near the coast.

A Heat Advisory is in effect for Monday and Tuesday

Showers and t-storms are possible late Wednesday and on Thursday. The best chance of any rain is inland on Wednesday, and it’s more of a general shower/storm threat on Thursday throughout all of Southeastern New England. It will stay humid with highs likely in the 80s.

The weather looks fairly quiet on Friday before another disturbance heads our way next weekend. Showers/storms cannot be ruled out either Saturday or Sunday. It’s too early to say if either day will be a washout like this past Saturday was. It does not look like the same type of potent system that brought very heavy rain this weekend.

A more organized storm could move through mid-Atlantic into Southern New England early next week. It has already been a wet summer in many spots (especially inland), and it looks like it could get soggier if that storm develops.
