This could be one of the shortest “glances” at the full forecast that you will read all year long. Basically, this going to be an extremely quiet (and nice) week in Southern New England.
The storm that kept clouds and rain around Sunday on the Cape and Islands will be moving to the northeast and combining with Leslie. The hybrid tropical system will move into eastern Newfoundland by midweek. In the wake of those two systems, a large area of high pressure will move out of Central Canada into the Northeastern United States. Dry, cool air will settle in through midweek, and as the high pressure gets to our south around midweek, we’ll start to see things warm-up slightly.
Monday and Tuesday will feature highs in the low 70s and lows in the upper 40s to low 50s. There should be plenty of sunshine, and it will be breezy on Monday.
The warming trend will commence on Wednesday. Highs should be in the mid 70s with tons of sun. Thursday and Friday will be in the upper 70s to low 80s. Right now, next weekend looks decent. Some showers are possible Sunday if a front holds together as it approaches Southern New England.
Leslie should continue to bring some rough surf into Tuesday before seas subside quickly in the middle of the week.
Enjoy the wonderful weather!
