I actually taped this video prior to the devastating Moore, OK tornado, but did not get a chance to post it until after the storm hit. My thoughts and prayers go out to the victims of this horrific natural disaster. The weather in Southern New England will be somewhat unsettled for the next few days, and, eventually, that same storm system will move through Thursday into Friday. While some t-storms are possible, and strong storms may occur inland, it does not appear that it will be a major severe weather threat for Southeastern New England. The weather following the showers/storms will be mainly dry and cool for the Memorial Day weekend. We’ll keep an eye on a cold front that could bring some showers on Sunday.
A large area of high pressure will settle into the Northeast early next week. The fair weather pattern will continue through the middle of the week. It will gradually get milder, and may get back into the 70s/80s by the end of the week or the first weekend of June.
Conditions may be favorable for the first tropical development of the season next week in the Caribbean. It does not look like it will be a threat to the East Coast.
