Excessive Heat Watch issued for Thursday

High temperatures in the mid 80 to low 90s will seem like a breeze on Wednesday when compared to the searing heat that is expected in part of Southern New England on Thursday. The wind will shift from southerly on Wednesday to west or west-southwest on Thursday, and that will open the door to the hottest weather of the summer in part of RI, CT, and SE MA. High temperatures will be in the mid to upper 90s, and the dew point will be  near 70, making it feel like 100-105° in interior CT, inland RI and most of Bristol/Plymouth Counties in MA. The National Weather Service has issued an Excessive Heat Watch in those areas.
