Three of the four major climatology stations in Southern New England soared into the 90s on Sunday afternoon. Providence (92°), Boston (93°), and Hartford (92°) all broke 90° early in the afternoon. None of the stations came close to the daily record high temperature which is 98° in the Providence area, and 100° in Boston and Hartford. Worcester, MA did not reach 90° on Sunday. While the other stations are on pace for more 90° days than normal, Worcester has not experienced a 90° day this summer, and the normal for the summer in Worcester is three. With hot weather in the forecast all week, it’s quite possible Worcester will be able to play catch up.
