The first two-thirds of August have been rather ho-hum weather-wise in the Southern New England. It has been consistently cooler than normal, but the cool weather has not been extreme. So far this month in Providence, the farthest the temperature has been from normal on any given day is 7°.
By comparison, July, which was extremely warm, featured 13 days where the temperature was at least 8° above or below normal. Not surprisingly, 12 of the 13 days were warmer than normal. In June there were six days where the daily temperature deviated at least 8° from normal.
It looks like the relatively benign weather will continue for most of the rest of the month. It will be warmer than normal through Thursday, then near to slightly below normal over the weekend.
