Some love it, some hate it, and some fear the inevitable fact that summer is quickly winding down in Southern New England. Friday was a stark reminder of what lies ahead with the temperature dropping into the 30s in most of Northern New England, and into the 40s to low 50s in Southern New England.
When the temperature dropped to 50° at TF Green Airport it became the coolest morning since June 5 in the Providence area. The record low temperature for the date is 45° set in 1906. With a low of 52° Boston recorded its coolest temperature since May 28.
There is plenty of sunshine in the Friday forecast, and the temperature will rebound into the mid to upper 60s during the afternoon. Friday night also looks unseasonably cool, with the temperature dipping well into the 40s in the countryside under clear skies with little wind. Highs will be in the 70s this weekend.
