Patchy fall colors in Northern New England

Fall starts Sunday at 4:44 pm EDT, and the peak of the fall foliage season is not too far away in the highest elevations of Northern New England. Cool nights and warm days are thought to be a nice recipe for pretty fall foliage season, and there has been plenty of that type of weather in the past 6-8 weeks. Colors are just starting to pop in Northern New England, and either the last weekend of September or first weekend of October may be the best time view the colors up north – weather permitting, of course!

There should be splashes of color in Southern New England by October in Southern New England. The peak in the Berkshires is near Columbus Day weekend, and in mid to late October in Southeastern New England.
