Locally heavy rain occurred from the early morning hours through midday in part of Southern New England on Sunday, September 1, 2013. Drenching thunderstorms brought flash flooding to Kent County in RI during the early morning. By mid-morning, the heaviest thunderstorms had shifted to near Boston, with parts of Middlesex, Norfolk, and Suffolk counties all receiving more than 3″ of rain.
