A line of strong storms moving into the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast has the potential to produce isolated tornadoes through Monday afternoon from the Washington DC area to Upstate New York. Conditions in this region are marginally favorable for supercell thunderstorms that could produce isolated tornadoes. The National Weather Service has issued a Tornado Watch effective until 5 pm Monday. The Tornado Watch includes Washington DC, Baltimore, Philadelphia, New York City, and Albany.
The line of storms is likely to weaken as it moves into Southern New England Monday evening. Strong winds are possible ahead of and during the weakening storms, but there is no tornado threat in Southern New England.
