Cape Cod and islands High Wind Watch Sunday PM

A fast-moving intensifying storm system may bring a period of strong, damaging winds to coastal Southern New England Sunday afternoon and evening. The peak winds are likely on Cape Cod and the islands between 5pm and 10pm as the storm passes by. Southeast gusts to 50 mph are possible. The National Weather Service has issued a High Wind Watch.

* WINDS...SOUTHEAST 30 TO 40 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 50 MPH.

* TIMING...STRONGEST WINDS FROM 5 PM TO 10 PM.

* IMPACTS...THESE STRONG WINDS ARE CAPABLE OF DOWNING TREES AND
  POWER LINES AS WELL AS CAUSING PROPERTY DAMAGE.
