Wind Advisory for Cape and Islands

The storm that will produce heavy inland snow Saturday night will also bring rain and gusty wind to the coast late at night into early Sunday morning. An increasing easterly wind could reach 20-30 mph with gusts to 45 mph on Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard, Nantucket, and Block Island. The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory for those areas.

  CAUSE ISOLATED POWER OUTAGES. MOTORISTS MAY ALSO EXPERIENCE
  DIFFICULT DRIVING...ESPECIALLY IN SMALLER HIGH PROFILE VEHICLES.

A WIND ADVISORY IS ISSUED WHEN SUSTAINED WINDS ARE FORECAST TO BE
31 TO 39 MPH OR GUSTS WILL RANGE BETWEEN 46 AND 57 MPH. WINDS
THIS STRONG ARE CAPABLE OF DOWNING SMALL TREE LIMBS AND
BRANCHES...POSSIBLY CAUSING ISOLATED POWER OUTAGES.  DRIVING CAN
ALSO BE DIFFICULT...ESPECIALLY FOR HIGH PROFILE VEHICLES.
