Gradual Improvement This Weekend

Occasional heavy showers rolled through Southern New England during the day on Friday. The showers will become widely scattered Friday night, but it will stay damp with low clouds, fog, and mist possible. It will be a muggy night, with lows in the low to mid 60s.

A cold front will slowly move offshore on Saturday, and clouds will be stubborn in Rhode Island, and especially in Eastern Massachusetts. A few passing showers cannot be ruled out. It will be a bit warmer, with highs in the low to mid 70s. Skies will most likely clear Saturday night as a developing storm moves east of Nova Scotia by Sunday morning. Lows will be near 60.

Clouds and stray showers will be stubborn in Eastern New England on Saturday

Father’s Day looks pretty nice. It will be partly to mostly sunny and breezy. Highs will be near 80 inland, and in the 70s near the coast. There will be a 10-20 mph north-northwest breeze. Dew points will stay in the 40s and 50s, which means it will not be humid. Sunday night will be clear with lows in the mid to upper 50s.

The weather will stay dry early next week. Monday should be a great day, with highs in the upper 70s to low 80s under mostly sunny skies. The humidity will creep up in the middle of next week. Tuesday looks mostly sunny, warm, and muggy. Highs will be in the low to mid 80s inland. It will be in the 70s at the beach. Wednesday should reach the 80s, too, with dew points in the 60s making it feel muggy. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are possible Wednesday afternoon as a cold front approaches.
