Bright and Cool on Sunday

After a chilly start, the temperature will warm to near 60 with sunny skies on Sunday afternoon. There will be a 10-15 mph north-northwest breeze that diminishes late in the day. Skies will be partly cloudy to mainly clear Sunday night. Lows will be in the 30s in the countryside, and low 40s in the cities and near the coast.

It will be dry and breezy on Sunday in the Northeast

Monday will be partly cloudy and a bit warmer, with highs in the low to mid 60s. A passing shower cannot be ruled out Monday afternoon, especially away from the coast. It will not be nearly as cool at night from Monday night through most of next week. Lows Tuesday morning will be in the mid to upper 50s.

Tuesday and Wednesday look mainly dry and rather warm for mid-October. Highs will be in the low to mid 70s inland, and 60s near the coast. Skies will be partly cloudy in the afternoon, and mostly cloudy with patchy fog in the morning. Lows will be in the upper 50s to low 60s.

A slow-moving storm system will bring rain showers, and possibly thunderstorms, Thursday into Friday. It will stay mild, with daytime temperatures in the 60s, and overnight temperatures in the 50s. There is a pretty good chance of a decent soaking (0.5-1″ rain) as the storm slowly passes by.

The storm should move out of the picture by early next weekend, and Saturday looks breezy, dry, and mild, with highs in the mid to upper 60s.
