Fall 2014: Near Normal in Southern New England

Meteorological Autumn ended on November 30. The season started warm and dry in September in Southern New England, and it ended with a cool, wet, and snowy month of November. The four major climatological stations were all not too far from normal in terms of both temperature and precipitation for the season. It was drier than normal in Providence and Hartford, and slightly wetter than normal in Boston and Worcester. The temperature was near normal in Worcester, about a half-degree warmer than normal in Providence and Boston, and around a degree warmer than normal in Hartford. September and October were warmer than normal. November was colder than normal.
