Dry and Chilly Sunday; Snow/Rain on Monday

Sunday will begin with clear skies and lows in the low to mid teens. It will be partly sunny and a bit milder in the afternoon. Highs will be in the low 30s with a developing southwest breeze. It looks like it will stay dry through Sunday night. Lows will be in the mid to upper 20s.

Sunday looks quiet as a storm develops to the west

The southwest breeze will continue ahead of the next storm system on Monday, and there may be enough mild air around for a mainly rain event in Southeastern New England. Clouds will increase in the morning, and light snow, mixed precipitation or rain will develop around midday and continue into the evening. Right now, it looks like a better chance of rain than snow from the coast to the I-95 corridor. Inland, it looks like mainly rain or a mix of snow and rain. The temperature will likely be in the mid 30s, and it will fall below freezing late Monday night after the precipitation ends. Some slick spots are possible early Tuesday, especially if the precipitation ends as brief period of snow and sleet around midnight.

There will likely be a quiet stretch of weather from Tuesday into next weekend. Tuesday looks chilly, with highs only in the upper 20s. It will be seasonably cold with highs in the 30s and lows near 20 Wednesday through Friday. Skies will be partly cloudy to mainly clear.
