NWS Issues Wind Advisory Near Coast for Sunday

A storm system will bring relatively warm weather and the potential for gusty winds to part of coastal Southern New England on Sunday. Once the temperature jumps into the upper 40s to mid 50s on Sunday, there is the potential for 15-30 mph sustained southwesterly winds, with isolated 40-50 mph gusts possible. The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory for southeastern RI, Buzzards Bay area, Cape Cod, and the islands from 7am-7pm on Sunday. See below for more details.

WINDS INCREASE DURING THE MORNING. STRONGEST WINDS FORECAST TO
OCCUR AROUND EARLY AFTERNOON ON SUNDAY LIKELY TO OCCUR WITH ANY
EMBEDDED HEAVIER DOWNPOURS...PERHAPS EVEN THUNDERSTORMS. WINDS
ARE EXPECTED TO DIMINISH DURING THE EVENING AS RAIN EXITS THE
REGION AHEAD OF A COLD FRONT.
