Strong Winds Near the Coast on Friday

The wind will howl out of the southwest on Friday ahead of a cold front that will bring snow showers to Southeastern New England. There is the potential for isolated 40-50 mph wind gusts in the southern half of Rhode Island and near Buzzards Bay. Cape Cod and the Islands could see wind isolated gusts as high as 65 mph. Of course, winds that strong could down trees, limbs, and power lines causing isolated power outages. The strong winds could also lower visibility in any snow showers. The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory and High Wind Warning for parts of Southeastern New England.

Strong winds are possible Friday morning in coastal Southern New England
