Sun Returns Wednesday; Late-workweek Showers

The storm system that brought a second straight very cool and occasionally rainy day to Southeastern New England will be moving offshore Tuesday night. High pressure will arrive from Canada, and Wednesday will become partly sunny.

Sunshine returns on Wednesday

There will be low clouds, fog, and mist to start the day on Wednesday. Lows will be in the 40s – unseasonably cool for early June. Clouds will likely break up to a partly sunny skies by midday, and it will stay that way through the afternoon. A cool northeast to east breeze will keep the temperature in the low to mid 60s during the afternoon.

Wednesday night will be mainly clear to partly cloudy. Lows will range from the mid 40s inland to the low 50s near the coast. After a sunny start, clouds will increase on Thursday. Highs will be in the low to mid 70s inland, and 60s near the coast.

A disturbance moving north from the Atlantic Ocean may bring a few showers late Thursday night and Friday. It does not look like a washout. Highs will be in the 60s with mostly cloudy skies when it is not raining.

The weekend looks nice and dry. Saturday will be mostly sunny with lows in the low to mid 50s, and highs in the mid 70s inland. It will be closer to 70 near the coast with an onshore breeze. Saturday night will be clear and cool. Lows will be in the upper 40s to low 50s. Sunday is shaping up to be mostly sunny with highs in the upper 60s to mid 70s.

Another disturbance heads for Southern New England early next week. Showers are possible by late Monday.
