The hottest weather of the summer is on the way to Southern New England for the next two days. However, there will be a big difference in humidity between Sunday and Monday.
SUNDAY
Clouds and fog may be stubborn for a few hour Sunday morning. I would not expect to see sunshine at the beach before 10 am, but clouds will burn off to hazy sunshine by midday. It will be partly sunny and very humid in the afternoon. Highs will be near 90 inland, and in the 80s at the coast. It will feel 5-10° warmer than the air temperature because of the oppressive humidity. Showers and thunderstorms should hold off through the day, but there is a thunderstorm threat Sunday evening through the night. It will stay humid and warm Sunday night. Lows will be in the 70s. The thunderstorms will likely move from northwest to southeast, affecting inland locations first.
MONDAY
A northwest wind will lower the humidity, but not the temperature. It will be mostly sunny in the afternoon. Highs will be in the low 90s inland, and mid 80s at the beach. Monday afternoon looks like a great time to hit the beach or pool. Monday night will be warm, but not very humid. Lows will be near 70
TUESDAY
Tuesday’s forecast is the trickiest of the week. A disturbance moving through the Northeast will trigger showers and thunderstorms. There is a chance of rain during the day in Southeastern New England. However, it will likely still be warm, with highs well into the 80s and increased humidity.
MID TO LATE WEEK
A pleasant stretch of weather is ahead from Wednesday through Friday. It will be seasonably warm, and not too humid. Highs will be in the low to mid 80s, and lows will be in the low to mid 60s. There will be blue sky and fair-weather clouds during the day. The nights will be mainly clear.
