Partly Sunny Friday; Showers Possible Saturday

The forecast for the 4th of July is trending cloudier and cooler in Southeastern New England. We are watching a storm system to our south that could bring some afternoon and evening showers. In a worst-case scenario, there could be an impact on afternoon barbecues and evening fireworks displays. Sunshine will break through on Sunday, and it will warm into the 80s inland.

FRIDAY
After a mostly cloudy start, skies will become partly to mostly sunny on Friday afternoon. Highs will be in the low 80s inland, and in the 70s near the coast. The wind will turn onshore in the afternoon. Friday night looks partly cloudy and comfortable. The temperature will settle back through the 60s to near 60 by dawn on the 4th.

Showers start to creep towards Southern New England early on the 4th

The best chance of rain is in the afternoon and evening. Right now, the odds of rain are right around 50/50 – much higher than they were yesterday. Check again Friday on this important forecast. Saturday evening looks cloudy and cool, with temps in the low to mid 60s, and the chance of showers.

SUNDAY
It will be sunnier and warmer on Sunday. Highs will be in the low 80s inland, and 70s near the coast. Skies will be partly to mostly sunny. There will be a northwest breeze that shifts to the southwest late in the day.

The best chance of showers looks like Wednesday and Thursday. Overall, the weather pattern will stay unsettled like the past month.
