An unsettled weather pattern will continue into the early part of the workweek. Heat and humidity will slowly build by midweek, and a heat wave is possible by the end of the week.
MONDAY
Patchy fog and scattered showers/t-storms are possible early in the day in RI and SE MA. Skies will become partly to mostly cloudy, and more showers and thunderstorms may develop during the afternoon. The best chance of seeing afternoon rain is north and west of I-95. Slow-moving cells could produce locally heavy rain and street flooding.
MONDAY NIGHT
The shower/storm threat diminishes in the evening. It will be mostly cloudy with patchy fog. Lows will be in the upper 60s to low 70s Tuesday morning.
TUESDAY
There is a lower chance of showers/storms developing on Tuesday. Skies will become partly sunny, and it will be very warm and humid. Highs will approach 90 inland. It will be in the 80s near the coast. The high humidity will make it feel a few degrees warmer.
WEDNESDAY
Hazy, hot, and humid! Any early clouds and fog will burn off to hazy sunshine. It looks like a typical mid-summer hot day. Highs will be in the low 90s inland, and 80s at the beach. There is not much of a t-storm threat on Wednesday.
THURSDAY
It could be the hottest day of the year so far. Look for more hazy sunshine with highs in the low to mid 90s inland, and 80s at the beach with a southwest wind. An approaching cold front may trigger thunderstorms by late in the day or during the evening. It will be humid again, and it may feel like the low 100s inland.
FRIDAY-SUNDAY
It will turn less humid, but stay very warm to hot on Friday. A west-northwest breeze means it will be a very warm beach day. Look for lots of sunshine. Highs will be in the upper 80s to low 90s. The heat continues next weekend. Both Saturday and Sunday will flirt with 90 inland. It will be in the 80s at the beach with mostly sunny skies.
