The workweek will begin and end with dry weather. A midweek storm will bring moderate to heavy precipitation, and most or all of it will be rain for Southeastern New England.
MONDAY
Look for mostly sunny skies. Highs will be in the low to mid 40s with a 10-15 mph northwest breeze. The temperature will be dip into the 20s at night with a few clouds around.
TUESDAY
Another dry day is likely. It will be cooler, with highs near 40. Clouds will thicken late in the day, and snow/rain showers are possible at night. The best chance of snow showers is inland. Lows will be in the low 30s Wednesday morning.
WEDNESDAY
The first of two storms to hit in the midweek will arrive early Wednesday with relatively light precipitation. It looks like the best chance of a bit of snow is early in the day, but we are not expecting much, if any, accumulation in RI or SE MA. Rain showers are possible in the afternoon, with a better chance of steady rain at night. The temperature will slowly and steadily rise through the 30s and 40s, reaching the 50s by early Thursday. Rain will continue early Thursday, with heavy downpours possible.
THURSDAY
It will be a wet and windy morning, with some heavy downpours and temperatures in the 50s. Drier weather is ahead for the afternoon. Highs will be in the 50s, and it will turn colder, but likely not reach freezing at night.
FRIDAY
We expect a partly cloudy and seasonable day. Highs will be near 40, with a west-northwest breeze.
WEEKEND
Both days look dry, but it is uncertain how far south a cold front will get Saturday night into Sunday. The early outlook is for the colder and very windy weather to stay north of RI and SE MA. Highs will be in the upper 30s both days, and lows will be in the 20s Saturday morning, and near 30 Sunday morning. Both days look breezy.
