Much-needed rain is ahead for Tuesday before a seasonably cool and dry end to April in Southeastern New England. The relatively cool end to the month should be enough for this month to be the first cooler-than-normal month in the Providence area since June 2015.
TUESDAY
A storm system passing south of New England will bring chilly rain Monday night and Tuesday. The temperature will hover in the low to mid 40s. The rain threat ends around sunset. There will be some clearing with lows in the mid 30s Tuesday night.
WEDNESDAY-FRIDAY
Mainly clear and cool weather is likely in the mid to late workweek. Lows will be in the mid 30s to low 40s. Highs will be in the mid to upper 50s. It will be mostly sunny during the day.
SATURDAY
You can expect fine weather on Saturday. After a cool start near 40, the high temperature will be close to 60 with mostly sunny skies. Some clouds will arrive Saturday night. Lows will be in the mid 40s.
SUNDAY
Look for mostly cloudy, but dry conditions on Sunday. An approaching storm may bring rain Sunday night into Monday. It will be a bit cool, with highs in the upper 50s.
