A very cold weekend gives way to moderating temperatures early in the week. Monday looks dry and seasonable, with highs in the low 40s. Clouds increase Monday night, and a few showers are likely on Tuesday. Highs will be in the 40s, and it will not be a washout, with only 0.1-0.2″ of rain expected during the day.
Showers continue Tuesday night into early Wednesday. Rain should end by around 10am Wednesday, and it will be mild in the afternoon. You can expect highs in the low to mid 50s. Thursday looks dry and cooler with a breeze. Highs will be in the low to mid 40s.
The pattern is more wintry than spring-like between March 9-15, with plenty of cool air in the Northeastern United States. There will be several shots at snow, but there are no guarantees that any of the storms will hit Southeastern New England. The first chance of snow is on Friday as a weak disturbance moves through the Mid-Atlantic. Much like last Friday, it seems that this system will pass too far south for an impact in RI or SE MA.
Another storm will develop to our south late in the weekend. This one may bring accumulating snow if it travels far enough north, but the track is still questionable at this stage of the game. The overall pattern looks chilly into the middle of next week, and, if it does not happen this weekend, at some point there will probably be another accumulating snow event in our area.
