Event Forecast: Independence Rhode Race

The Bristol Independence Rhode Race will be held on Saturday, July 1st.  In partnership with the Bristol Fourth of July Committee, this half marathon will follow the beautiful downtown streets of America’s quintessential community when it is decked out in its finest – during the Oldest 4th of July Celebration in America.  The course includes incredible historic homes, a town common and  the America’s Cup Museum before heading out along the scenic coastline, through Colt State Park and finishing along the water at Independence Park.

Over the past few years the Independence Rhode Race has featured both good and bad weather for running. This year, you can expect it to feel like early July with warm/muggy conditions on Saturday morning. All things considered, it will not be a bad morning at all for the half-marathon!

There may be a bit of patchy mist around early in the day as the temperature and dew point hover in the upper 60s. You’ll work up a quick sweat in conditions like these, so be sure to hydrate along the way. Clouds will break later in the morning, and it will get warm by 10 am.
