We are enjoying a nice late workweek with seasonable temperatures and reasonable humidity. The fine weather continues into the weekend with just the slight risk of a brief afternoon shower or thunderstorm on Saturday. I think there is a much better chance that it stays dry in most towns.
High temperatures will be in the 80s for the next few days. Sea breezes will cool the coast a bit, but also bring in slightly more humidity since the water temperature is in the upper 60s to low 70s at area beaches. Low temperatures will gradually climb from 60-65° Friday morning to the mid-upper 60s by Sunday morning.
A disturbance passing by well offshore on Saturday morning may throw a few clouds at RI and SE MA in the morning. After that, skies will be partly to mostly sunny for Saturday afternoon and Sunday. It should be a great weekend for cookouts or the beach, and not too hot for any outdoor sporting events or bike rides.
Hot and humid weather makes a brief reappearance early next week. The dew point will climb into the mid 60s to low 70s by early Monday, and it will be quite muggy in the afternoon. The temperature will reach the mid 80s at the coast to low 90s inland. Skies will very likely stay dry on Monday.
The low temperature will be in the low to mid 70s Monday night with high humidity. Expect highs in the 90s inland and 80s coast on Tuesday. An approaching front could trigger scattered showers and thunderstorms by late Tuesday – especially in western Connecticut. At this point, it does not look like widespread rain, and it’s pretty likely that the stretch of mainly rain-free weather that began on Wednesday morning will continue into the middle of next week. However, the front will be closer on Wednesday, and scattered thunderstorms are possible from late-morning through the afternoon. High humidity lingers, but it will probably not be as hot as Tuesday.
August begins on Thursday with a scattered shower/storm threat as the front lingers nearby. Drier weather is ahead for late Thursday into late next week. It will also likely turn less humid – at least for a day or two.
