This November has been filled with relatively cold weather, but Tuesday will be a second straight day in the 50s with some sunshine blended with clouds. It will stay dry through the day. A frontal system brings scattered showers on Wednesday, especially in the afternoon and evening. Highs will be in the 50s on Wednesday, too. It does not look like a soaker, and most towns will get less than 0.25″ rain.
A lingering shower is possible early Thursday as the storm system departs. It will be a brisk Thanksgiving with temps in the 40s through the day – although the warmest part of the day may be mid-morning. 15-35 mph winds will make it feel a bit colder. Skies will be partly cloudy in the afternoon.
Expect cold and quiet weather Friday and Saturday. Aside from temps in the 20s, there will be no weather issues for Black Friday shoppers heading out early in the day. Look for highs in the 30s on Friday and Saturday. Clouds will stream in late Saturday ahead of a storm system that will likely bring precipitation at the end of the weekend.
It’s still early, but it looks like the cold air will retreat enough and the storm’s center will be close enough to bring mainly or all rain to CT, RI and SE MA Sunday and/or early Monday. A slight shift in the weather pattern later this week could bring in more cold air and a southern storm track that would make a snow an issue for at least part of the area. Given the current setup, I’m not leaning in that direction at this time.
