A system to the north and one to the south will not make a connection to bring any kind of significant weather to Southern New England Wednesday night into Thursday morning. It looks like no accumulation around the I-95 area and coast, and maybe a coating inland. Expect rain and snow showers late at night and early Thursday. Any precipitation should end by late in the morning, and there is not much of a chance that snow will stick after sunrise. I do not think the morning commute will be severely impacted by the weather.
Thursday afternoon looks partly sunny with highs in the 40s. Friday will be a quiet day with lows in the 20s and highs in the 40s. I expect occasional rain on Saturday with temps in the low 40s. It’s not a super-soaker with about a half-inch of rain expected. If the storm strengthens a bit, it could bring an inch to some spots. The best bet for rain is during the day – unfortunate news if you want to be out and about. The weekend ends with dry weather and highs in the 40s on Sunday.
Soggy Saturday….sounds like 2018 all over again
Wintry Mix Possible Monday Night into Tuesday
A cold shot arrives on Monday with dry skies and highs in the 30s. The fresh supply of cold air may be enough to lead to a messy mix of snow to sleet to rain late Monday night into Tuesday as a storm moves in from the west. This storm system looks like the best bet for accumulating snow in a while, but the track does not favor exclusively snow. It could be a quick thump of snow changing to rain near the coast within an hour or two. Inland could see several hours of snow/sleet before any rain. It’s still pretty early so I do not want to get too specific on a forecast that will likely have some twists and turns in the next few days. Overall, next week looks colder than this week, with highs in the 30s (where they should be) most days.
Front-end thump of snow possible late Monday night into Tuesday morning
