A mainly dry and seasonable weather pattern is ahead for the rest of this week into early next week. The best chance of any rain is between 2 a.m. – 8 a.m. Saturday as a cold front sweeps through. Passing showers and t-storms are possible, with the best chance of a t-storm in western Connecticut. It will briefly get muggy Friday afternoon into early Saturday before lower humidity returns by midday Saturday. The weekend looks pleasant with highs not far from 70 both Saturday and Sunday, and a low in the 50s Sunday morning. EPS 10-day precipitation anomaly shows a wet late September and early October in the Eastern US.A cool plunge is likely for the central United States next week

Showers are possible by the middle of next week (Tuesday-Wednesday) and the pattern looks somewhat cool and unsettled for late September into early October. Fall begins on Saturday, and that has a lot of us thinking about apple picking and fall foliage. This might be a good weekend for apple picking before it gets wetter next week.
