It was only a matter of time before true winter weather returned to New England. Safe to say, it’s back. Frigid weather this weekend will set the stage for a snow storm early in the week.
The Nor’easter will develop on Monday and bring rough weather from Monday afternoon into Tuesday throughout New England. There is a chance that snow changes to rain in the I-95 corridor, but there will likely be snow accumulation before that happens. Inland areas are likely to get more than 6″ of snow, and there’s a reasonable chance of 12″+ considering the storm’s potential.
Wind will be a factor Monday and Tuesday, with near-blizzard conditions possible at the height of the storm. Gusts over 35 mph are likely, and there could be 50+ mph gusts near the coast. Coastal flooding is possible during high tide in Eastern Massachusetts late Monday through Tuesday.
Most of the snow is coming to Connecticut during the day on Monday through Monday night. In Rhode Island, it will be midday Monday through Monday night. In the Boston area, it will be later Monday afternoon into Tuesday morning.
