Areal Flood Watch Into Wednesday Morning

Soaking rain is likely Tuesday afternoon and night in Southern New England as a wet weather system moves through the Northeast. 1-2″ of rainfall is possible in most of Southern New England, and the National Weather Service in Taunton, MA has issued an Areal Flood Watch for the potential for urban and poor drainage flooding Tuesday into Wednesday morning.

  POSSIBILITY OF LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS OF RAIN WHICH MAY LEAD TO
  POCKETS OF FLOODING WHICH ARE OF HIGHER IMPACT ACROSS THE WATCH
  AREA.

* WHILE THE PRIMARY ISSUE WILL BE THE URBAN AND POOR DRAINAGE
  FLOOD THREAT. SHOULD THE POTENTIAL FOR HIGHER TOTALS BE
  REALIZED...SOME LOCAL STREAMS AND RIVERS MAY ALSO EXPERIENCE

  MINOR FLOODING ON AREA RIVERS AND STREAMS.

* THERE IS ALSO THE POSSIBILITY THAT THE EXCESSIVE RAINFALL WILL 
  RESULT IN URBAN AND POOR DRAINAGE FLOODING.
