Wind Advisory in effect Friday

A powerful cold front will bring strong winds to the Northeast Thursday night through Friday. Sustained 20-35 mph winds are likely from early Friday morning until late Friday afternoon. There may be wind gusts to 50 mph. The strongest gusts are most likely to occur between late in the morning and early in the afternoon. There is a better chance of 45-50 mph wind gusts near the coast, but the potential exists for damaging wind in all of Southern New England. The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory effective from 6 AM to 6 PM Friday.

.A POWERFUL EARLY SEASON STORM SYSTEM WILL EXIT THE GREAT LAKES
TONIGHT AND ENTER SOUTHEAST CANADA FRIDAY. THIS WILL RESULT IN TWO
EPISODES OF STRONG WINDS FOR SOUTHERN NEW ENGLAND.  THE FIRST
ROUND WILL ARRIVE DURING THE EARLY MORNING HOURS AS SOUTH TO
SOUTHWEST WINDS GUSTS UP TO 50 MPH. THE STRONGEST WINDS MAY OCCUR
AS HEAVY RAIN SHOWERS MOVE ACROSS THE AREA. THE AREA OF GREATEST
RISK FOR STRONG WINDS DURING THE MORNING HOURS WILL BE ACROSS
INTERIOR SOUTHEAST MASSACHUSETTS AND NEARBY RHODE ISLAND. A SECOND
ROUND OF STRONG WINDS WILL OCCUR DURING THE AFTERNOON AS A COLD
