Windy rainstorm in SNE this weekend

The first half of the weekend will be wet and windy in Southern New England. Rain will develop on Saturday, and it could be heavy at times during the afternoon and evening. The heaviest rain is likely between 4 pm Saturday and 1 am Sunday. 1-2″ of rain is possible in most of Southern New England. Connecticut is most likely to see 2″ of rain from the storm. Rain will end from west to east before dawn on Sunday.

The wind will increase out of the south during the day. 20-35 mph sustained winds are possible by Saturday evening. Peak gusts over 50 mph are possible Saturday evening near the coast of CT, RI, and MA. Inland, peak wind gusts should be 30-40 mph. Isolated power outages are possible near the coast due to the strong wind gusts.

The strong southerly winds will bring in very mild conditions. Highs will be in the mid to upper 50s in all of Southern New England.
