A Glance at the Week Ahead

The workweek will begin with quiet weather in Southeastern New England. The temperature will be in the mid to upper 20s at dawn on Monday, and it will rise to the low 40s under partly cloudy skies during the day. There will be a light northerly breeze.

Clouds will increase Monday night as the wind swings around to the east-northeast and a storm system approaches from the west. There may be some mist or drizzle near the coast late at night. At this point, it looks like the temperature will rise above freezing before any precipitation happens, but it will be a close call, and something to keep an eye on.

Tuesday will be cloudy and damp. Highs will be in the low to mid 40s. Occasional rain showers are in the forecast for Tuesday night as a disturbance moves through. Lows will be in the upper 30s to low 40s. It will stay mostly cloudy on Wednesday. Highs will be in the mid 40s.

Colder, but mainly dry, weather arrives late in the workweek. There is just the slight chance of snow showers or flurries on Thursday. Otherwise, it will be partly cloudy. Highs will be near 40 on Thursday, and in the mid to upper 30s on Friday.

The weekend will likely begin with dry weather, but a storm could bring rain and/or snow late Saturday into Sunday. It’s too early to say if the storm will be mainly snow or rain, and if it will come close enough for heavy precipitation. We’ll keep you posted during the week.
