New England foliage nears peak in northern mountains

The New England foliage season is brightening up quickly in Northern New England. This may be the weekend for peaks colors at the highest elevations.

Weather-wise, gray is the color of the weekend in New England. But, if you’re looking for something a little more vibrant, all you need to do is head to the mountains of Northern New England where the fall foliage is nearing its peak. There have been an abundance of gorgeous pictures showing up on Twitter over the past week, including this one from Stratton Resort in Stratton, VT.

It is still shaping up to be a nice foliage season in Southern New England, too. There are some splashes of color in the usual early spots, including along the Wampanoag Trail in Barrington, and bordering I-195 in Swansea and Seekonk.
