Right Weather is proud to announce another partnership with a high profile Southern New England community event. Right Weather will be providing forecasts for runners and organizers of the second annual Citizens Bank Pell Bridge Run Sponsored by Newport Hospital on November 11, 2012.
The inaugural Pell Bridge Run was spectacular last November. It was an unseasonably mild morning with very little wind. The sunrise view from the top of the bridge was unforgettable – keep in mind, because of the unique nature of the race, it begins at 630 am. This is one of the most exciting road race events in the Northeast because it is the only time that pedestrians are allowed to run or walk across the Claiborne Pell Bridge from Jamestown to Newport, RI. Here’s hoping the weather this year is just as nice.
The Pell Bridge Run is a 4 mile run/walk produced by the Rhode Island Turnpike and Bridge Authority. This event is not-for-profit and 100% of proceeds will go to support local not-for-profits. The not-for-profit organizations that will benefit from your support of the Pell Bridge Run include Meeting Street, Newport County YMCA, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center, March of Dimes, Special Olympics Rhode Island, and Rhode Island Sports Commission.
There is still time to register online (and train!) for the event. Look for updated event forecasts on rightweather.net in the week leading up to the run.
