A powerful storm responsible for about an inch of rain also has the potential to bring 50 mph wind gusts to these areas. Wind gusts of 40-50 mph are possible along the RI coast and near Buzzards Bay through mid-afternoon. The wind should quickly diminish by late Wednesday afternoon or early in the evening.
