The National Weather Service has expanded the Winter Storm Watch in effect Saturday night into Sunday to Northern RI and the Boston metro area. The threat of a major storm has greatly diminished in the past 24 hours, but a moderate, wet snow event may occur in the areas outlined in the watch.
