The fresh snowpack in New England is combining with clear skies and light winds Sunday evening to allow the temperature to quickly tumble back into the teens to low 20s. The cold air will remain in place inland on Monday morning as the next weather system approaches. Some snow, sleet, and freezing rain is possible for a few hours when the precipitation arrives. Eventually, the cold air should be scoured out and the precipitation should change to a plain, chilly rain. See the National Weather Service text below for details on the Winter Weather Advisory that is in effect for parts of MA and CT.
