National Weather Service issues Winter Storm Watch

A late-winter storm will bring accumulating snow back to Southern New England Monday night. As with most March snow storms, the best chance of heavy accumulating snow is inland in the higher terrain. A well entrenched chilly airmass will be difficult to displace as a storm moves from the Mid-Atlantic into the Northeast. In most of Southern New England, the initial burst of precipitation will be snow. It will gradually change from snow to rain Monday night from the coast to inland locations. The highest snow totals will occur in the Berkshires and Worcester County, but there should be snow in the I-95 corridor, too. Check out the Right Weather forecast. The text below is from the National Weather Service.

...SIGNIFICANT WINTER STORM LIKELY MON NIGHT AND TUE...

.A COASTAL STORM WILL MOVE ACROSS THE SOUTHERN NEW ENGLAND
COASTLINE MONDAY NIGHT AND TUESDAY...LIKELY DELIVERING A PERIOD
OF HEAVY SNOW FOLLOWED BY SLEET...FREEZING RAIN AND THEN ALL RAIN
FOR SOME LOCATIONS. THE TIMING OF THE TRANSITION FROM SNOW TO
SLEET TO FREEZING RAIN AND ALL RAIN REMAINS UNCERTAIN AT THIS
TIME ALONG WITH PRECISE SNOWFALL TOTALS. WHAT IS CERTAIN IS THAT A
